Wordplay #2 Vote/Stem/Voice/Tuning
Whoa Election Day! I know the whole world isn’t daily watching or reeling from what America has been going these past years, but wow, major human milestone!
Because America has power and clout far beyond her borders.
But these Wordplays are supposed to be light and encouraging so let’s get to it!
Wordplay #1: Funk/Fonk/Vonk/Spark
If you live across cultures you may stumble on language quirks: words your brain hears differently than intended, simply because you’re not a native speaker.

Two night back I saw some fab Torb the Roach vids (thx Siem!), full of mad Breaking, whimsy, and first class funk.
Breakdance: Wisdom From/For The Heart
My daughter joined a Breakdance class last year. She always loved dancing and had a natural “popping” ability, so I showed her some styles online and Breaking caught her.
It might seem peculiar compared to e.g. swimming or soccer, but the style was as normal to me as street drummers or people passing with purple mohawks (I grew up in cities and various cultural circles).
But this was the first time I got to get close.
It’s one thing to hear about crews and listen to beats as a kid. It’s another to see your own kids rocking out.
And every time she had class, it was like all was well with the world..
Hope & Community: 7 Bright Spots from the Covid Lockdown
No one toasting New Year’s Eve could imagine that a global lockdown would become part of our human experience.
For all the troubles and straight up grief, the Covid lockdown has also sparked new ways to connect, deeper connections, and a greater appreciation for one another, including strangers.
Remix Your Life: A Note on Being vs. Labelling-Up
I find it hard writing bios for my social media accts.– is it just me? Passionate about people, beats, geeking on both HP and government policy… I think about sounds, planets, cheering others on… and the minute a label nears (“woman” “mom” “american” “dutchie” “bookworm” “basshead”) I’m limited. I’m claustrophobic.
How many times have you labelled up?
Taken From God’s Rib [Multimedia Post]
Is it so simple? We were enjoying an outdoor wedding and it was like heaven touched down– the weather, the people, music, everything was amazing. So much freedom and fun, especially for the kids. We stayed all night long.
When a speaker shared about the Adam/Eve story, full heart and humor, I got hit:
If Eve was made for/from Adam so he wouldn’t be lonely, maybe God made all of us for the same reason? [-click to tweet-]
God, lonely? Ridiculous! Blasphemous!
Ok, but here’s a question: did you ever experience a great place, delicious food, or sick beat and not want to share it with someone?
