Hey Peeps, this is a Series in making: Popverse. Taking a few flash verses and sharing some inspiration and a break down as swift and fresh as I can. Let’s give it a whirl!
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
(1 John 4:12)
Ive heard you have to see it to believe it. But some say the reverse–believe and then you can see it.
When it comes to God/Love/The Universe, how many of us have searched, wondered, asked “God,give me a sign you’re real..”
But if we could see God, would we really be free?
Could you still fart, curse, complain, take a shower,.. if god was as Omnipresent and Awesome as we’ve heard?
For today’s Pop Verse take a look:
¶No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1 John 4: 12 (for a good breakdown on how bible verses work, check my Harry Potter analogy in “WT Bible?!, via my new book, Ready for Crazy: Pocket Guide to the End of the World)
So this verse says I can see God through love. And so can you.
Through Love.

Like when I’m rubbing my friends arm because I sense she’s in pain, and I do it naturally, without expecting anything in return, out of love for her.
Or when a tired af parent gets up for the umpteenth time to comfort a crying or sick child.
Love stands on the dangerous side of the road, love will get in front of a bus or speeding car if need be.
And when I’m in the club dancing, watching others enjoying, vibing, not judging, just sharing in goodness, joy and wild peace, I feel love. Am I seeing God here too?
My heart beams out, so I guess someone can see God in me on the dance floor too.

According to the pop verse, it’s a Love that wants to Dwell (live) with with us. And it’s Perfect, Divine. When was the last time you thought of yourself like that?
I can’t wait to go dancing again. 😉

I sometimes use “He” as a pronoun for God but fully recognize God with male/female “identity” (for lack of a better word), as demonstrated in Genesis 1:27, expressed throughout the bible, and evidenced by humanity. See two-part post: Transgender God for more.
