Hey Peeps, this is a Series in the making. I’m taking some flash bible verses and sharing quick inspiration and a break down. Let’s give it a whirl!
Some say you have to see a thing to believe it. But I’ve heard the reverse too–believe it, and then you can see it.
When it comes to God/Love/The Universe, how many of us have searched, wondered, asked “God, give me a sign you’re real..”
But if we could see God, would we really be free?
Could you curse him out, fart, complain, take a shower,.. if god was as Omnipresent and Awe-inspiring as we’ve heard?
Like if the Magic that made aurora borrealis and every molecule in my atom-laden body showed up in human form, could I do anything but gawk, cower, or faint?
So maybe God doesn’t make *himself so present, so as not to impede on our freedom.. but does that mean we can never see *him?
Check it:
“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
1 John 4: 12
(for a good breakdown on how to make sense of bible verses / bible system, check my Harry Potter analogy in “WT Bible?!, via my new book (!) , Ready for Crazy: Pocket Guide to the End of the World)
The verse says, in a sort logic framework way (A = B, B = CD, thus A = CD) that we can see God through love.
Love, not a word, but an action. Like when I rub my friend’s arm because I sense she’s in pain, and I do it naturally, without expecting anything in return, out of love/care/compassion for her.
Or when a tired af parent gets up for the umpteenth time to comfort a crying or sick child.
Acts of kindness or self sacrifice are not the only places to see Love. When I’m dancing in a club, watching others also enjoying, vibing, no judgement, just sharing in goodness and a wild, vibrant, tangible peace, I feel love too.
Am I seeing God there too?
And when my heart beams out for all these people around me, maybe someone could see God in me on the dance floor too?
“How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity… Its like precious ointment on the head.. running down even to the hem of the garment… like dew that descended on a mountain… where God commanded the blessing.. Life Forevermore.”
(Psalm 133)
The Popverse implies Love wans to live with/in us. And that’s a Perfect, Divine love. When was the last time you thought of yourself like that?
Can’t wait to go dancing again. 😉

I sometimes use “He” as a pronoun for God but fully recognize God with male/female “identity” (for lack of a better word), as demonstrated in Genesis 1:27, expressed throughout the bible, and evidenced by humanity. See two-part post: Transgender God for more.
