It’s Monday, sun is shining, and aside from kids blowing their noses and water pulling on the washing machine, I hear birds chirping–but I have to focus to hear that.

While everything is peaceful around me, I know it’s not for so many. Struggles in homes, flat-out abuse, so many wondering if they can make the next payment, the next meal, traumas, work pressure, burnout, hopelessness, injustice, treachery.
Meanwhile social media shows streams of selfies, beautiful things, new gadgets, flawless skin, muscular bodies… like this is #Life.
It’s enough to make anyone feel small, unseen, unshiny.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I was admiring an olive tree outside a restaurant last week. It was stately yet quirky, and the coloring of the leaves made me think it must be fake.
Untill I saw some dead leaves shriveled in the back.
Then I knew it was real. 🌳
Everyone has problems, doubts, we all have our facepalm moments. But that’s life.
Highs and lows. Hurts and growth.

And if the grass looks greener on the other side, it’s probably because it’s fake.
Be You. Find your own voice. Don’t copy/paste everything around you.
And you can help someone too. Sometimes we go through a valley to help comfort someone else passing through.
And no matter what the world says you need to own, wear, smell like, or do for a living.. beyond and without all that, You Shine.
